  16. I had similar bad experiences with DOSmounter.  It seems to leave
  17. desktop code that is eventually read by the PC and it decides the disk
  18. is trashed.  Thats my semi-educated diagnosis, I could usually recover
  19. the files but it took several screw ups before I reallized I didn't
  20. have a batch of bad disks...mean while...my grade suffered.
