I have fetched Stuffit Lite from several sources via anonymous ftp and
run into the a problem each time. The file is always binHexed and
compressed. The process I use is as follows: I telnet to a local unix
host and then initiate an ftp to the internet host (sumex-aim, etc.) and
get the file. Next I put the file from the local host to my se/30 and
use stuffit 1.5 to unbinHex the file. The result is a self extracting
application which I execute. Finally, when I attempt to running Stuffit
Lite that has resulted from these operations, I am told that Stuffit Lite
is damaged and to check my disks for a possible virus! Neither SAM 2.0
Virus clinic nor disinfectant 2.8 finds anything wrong with my hard
disk. This has occurred three times, using three different sources for
the software. I am sure that I am making an error, but I can not find
it. If anyone has an idea that might cure the problem, please let me
know.
Thanks
