- Hi.
-
- A friend bought a 486-33 PC and in the middle of messing around
- with it, he set the wait state value in CMOS to 2 (AMI BIOS).
- Then the diagnostics programs reported that the CPU was running
- like a 12-MHz 286!
-
- Does anyone know why there can be such a big difference in CPU
- speed when wait state is introduced? Can someone explain?
-
- Cheers,
