  18. It's about time.  I've been hearing of this arrival for a while. Of
  19. course, porting AIX to a 4x860 board is probably no small task.  But
  20. then again, it's just software . . .  :=)

  22. We were using the Microway i860 card on an ISA machine about a year ago.  Max
  23. possible improvement was calculated at around 40:1, but actual measured
  24. improvement was in the range of 10:1 to 20:1.  Not too bad.  It really help
  25. our processing.  Calculations included many FFTs and was written in C.  I
  26. suppose DOS merge won't be a problem, either. But . .

  28. Our single 860 board with 32 MB RAM cost around 8K WITH our ed. discount.
  29. I can just imagine what a 4x860 would cost you from IBM . . .
