- I used to have a SBPRO, but I got rid of it for that reason, and MANY others.
- The SBPRO is NOT shielded from interference. When I turned up my volume real
- loud, I got alot of noise from my hard drive as well. I guess hard drives
- put out interference. Anyway, I also noticed recording problems. Some days,
- I could digitize music really well, while on others, the music came out
- sounding garbled.
-
- I had version 1 of the SBPRO. Again, the soundcard is not shielded from
- interference. I'm not sure if SBPRO v.2 fixed this problem.
-
- One thing I can suggest, though, is the Pro Audio Spectrum Plus or 16. Both
- cards are shielded from interference and you'll never hear that annoying
- hard disk sound again. The PAS Plus is about the same price as the SBPRO.
- I recommend you take back your SBPRO and trade in for a PAS Plus, or 16.
- If you don't need to record 16 bit audio, then just get the PAS Plus. It
- IS capable of playing 16 bit audio, just not recording it.
-
- As far as I know, there is NO way to shield the SBPRO from interference.
- If you are sick of that noise, then upgrade. You'll get a TRUE SCSI
- controller, not some proprietary controller that was previously passed off as
- being SCSI. You get nice control of mixing, volume, stereo enhance, bass
- boost, and many other things as well. I seriously recommend the upgrade.
