- Hi,
- I am using a 386 Intel pc connected to a 1.2Gb disk drive, when I use
- <chkdsk -f> I get errors. If the drive is partitioned so that the partition
- size is <1Gb then no problems. I could partition the drive up into two 600Mb
- partitions but I am storing very large graphic files and need all the space.
- If the pc was just for my own use then I just wouldn't use chkdsk but the unit
- is to be shipped to a customer and chkdsk is useful to clear up an aborted
- transfer.
- Is there a replacement maybe in the public domain which overcomes this
- limitation? If so could you please point me at it, or is there any comercial
- program which does the same thing? Norton Utils might work but it seems a
- large sum of money to pay for just the chkdsk facility.
- If this is an old chesnut of a problem then please forgive as I have
- only just subscribed to the group.
-
- Cheers,
-
- Nick Bristow.
