  11. Hi,
  12.    I am using a 386 Intel pc connected to a 1.2Gb disk drive, when I use
  13. <chkdsk -f> I get errors. If the drive is partitioned so that the partition
  14. size is <1Gb then no problems. I could partition the drive up into two 600Mb
  15. partitions but I am storing very large graphic files and need all the space.
  16. If the pc was just for my own use then I just wouldn't use chkdsk but the unit
  17. is to be shipped to a customer and chkdsk is useful to clear up an aborted
  18. transfer. 
  19.    Is there a replacement maybe in the public domain which overcomes this
  20. limitation? If so could you please point me at it, or is there any comercial
  21. program which does the same thing? Norton Utils might work but it seems a
  22. large sum of money to pay for just the chkdsk facility.
  23.     If this is an old chesnut of a problem then please forgive as I have
  24. only just subscribed to the group.
