  13. OK, here's a strange request....

  15. What I would like to do is get a digital recording of all the musical
  16. tracks (themes/songs) from the Commodore 64 version of Ultima III.
  17. THat was the first Ultima I played, and to this day I remember some of the
  18. music.  For reviewing fond memories, it would be great to have these songs
  19. stored as .WAV, .VOC or some other files for playback on my IBM PC.  (and
  20. sound-blaster of course).  Does anyone have an idea of how I may accomplish
  21. this?  Origin doesn't offer the music in any format (I've asked) except to
  22. order the original Ultima III for the Commodore 64.  Even if I did that I
  23. wouldn't know how to get the music from the game.  (2 problems...
  24. #1-I need to find my Ultima III, my old (last-seen as not-working) C64 and
  25. 1541 drive....finding all three and expecting them all to be in useful
  26. condition is hopeless.
  27. #2-The only thing I an think of doing is to take the audio output (need to
  28. make that DIN cable that went to a Commodore monitor) and tape the output.
  29. Then I can play it back through my SB to record it digitally.  This causes
  30. 2 problems in itself...1)I can only select the sound by playig the game and
  31. getting the exact beginning and ens of songs may be difficult (I don't 
  32. remember) and 2) The recording will most likely be of poor quality.

  34. So does anyone have an idea of a solution?  Please email me as I don't
  35. often read this group.  If you believe this should be reposted to a more
  36. suitable newsgroup, let me know which one you feel will be most responsive.
