- Windows is OK for running DOS programs in the background, but it
- certainly doesn't make a GOOD multitasker. OS/2 is rather stable, and
- I am surprised to hear that it "doesn't cut it". I have used OS/2
- v1.3 for a while and it is a very robust operating system. You can
- easily start a process in the background by launching it from the
- manager or a command prompt. You can also detach processes which
- don't require user input to run in the background just like the Unix
- &. OS/2 v2.0 extends some of this functionality to DOS. Although I
- don't think there is a DETACH command which works with DOS apps.
