  14. We accidently deleted the contents of a subdirectory on the hard disk
  15. of an AT clone. I immediately realized what happened and ran UNDELETE from
  16. PC-tools 7.1 (system is running ms-dos 3.3, single partition 20MB hard drive).
  17. There was no file activity after the delete and before I ran Undelete.
  18. (Note that I had not run MIRROR and did not have file tracking on). So
  19. undelete saw all the files (about 50) and said we had GOOD chance to recover
  20. them all. As I went through the files one by one and typed in the first 
  21. character and undeleted the file, every so often the next file then 
  22. changed from GOOD to BAD probability of being undeleted and pc-tools
  23. could no longer undelete it. It is as if when PC-tools was working it
  24. overwrite areas of the disk so that it ruined the chance of undeleting
  25. subsequent files. Can anyone explain what happened or what I did wrong.
  26. I have been undeleting files for years using many programs and this is 
  27. the first time I have ever seen this. I don't care about those
  28. files, but I want to make sure it never happens again.
