- Dayna also sells a LocalTalk card and software that puts a PC on a Mac
- network with full access to servers and printers. I don't know if the
- software is sold seperately or if it supports Ethernet cards.
-
- Farallon has their PhoneNet Talk software which supports LocalTalk and
- Ethernet cards (3Com for sure) and provides access to Appleshare servers
- and AppleTalk printers.
-
- If you keep the IIIsi on LocalTalk, I would replace Liasson with
- LaserBridge from Sonic Systems because it is a simple bridge rather than a
- router and uses far less CPU cycles (or so I'm told).
-
- Better yet, get an Extended Systems ethernet card for the IIIsi. This card
- supports EtherTalk and IPX (in case you ever install a Novell network).
- Combine this with the Frallon software and 3Com board (as mentioned above) in
- your PC(s) for a really good high-performance solution.
