- I've been trying to low level format a ST-225 on my 386/40 using a WD1003
- (generic 16 bit HD controller) for the past few days and never get past
- cylinder 28. I keep on getting a `device not responding' error. I did get
- it to low level format on my XT with a WD1004A (generic 8 bit controller),
- but not on the 386. Any ideas? Should I have to reformat it to use on my
- 386 anyways?
-
- I don't have a manual for the WD1003 so I might have some jumpers set
- wrong. Anyone that has the jumper settings, gimme some mail. I'm not
- interested in calling WD for help.
