  14. The last time I was in Sunnyvale, I went to Fry's and bought
  15. an RLL controller. To be exact, it's (supposed to be) a 16-bit 
  16. 1:1 RLL controller for 2 hard drives and 2 floppies.

  18. I brought it back to New Jersey with me, tried the board in my '286
  19. clone and all it does is lock up my machine.  The controller board
  20. has about a dozen jumpers on it. So, I called Fry's and they tell me 
  21. that they have no documentation for it, they don't know who the 
  22. manufacturer is and I should set it up "by trial and error"?!
  23. (The story is much more convoluted and I might post the details at 
  24. a later date, but these are the basic facts).

  26. Hopefully, by describing the board, someone might recognize the
  27. manufacturer and help me secure the proper documentation, or at
  28. least point me in the right direction...

  30. DESCRIPTION:

  32.  o  16-bit card, Western Digital chip-set.
  33.  
  34.  o  Silk-screened to the component side is "WA6-VR" (model number?)
  35.     and what looks to be a logo: a capital letter "C" with a
  36.     letter "L" inside it. (LC? CL?)
  37.  
  38.  o  Etched into the traces on the solder side of the board is
  39.     the word "UNIC" (the board maker)?
  40.
