  12. It's funny that you heard a rep say that they no longer support Ultrastor
  13. controllers, as I remember configuring at least two machines that included
  14. Ultrastors, recently. I do agree about the comment that when you MUST have
  15. X, you're likely to get Y with Gateway and recommend that people be
  16. prepared to mix and match as necessary. As an example, I'm recommending
  17. Adaptec 1542 SCSI controllers for software compatibility, and Quantum
  18. LPS-240 SCSI drives for reliability. This often means that I order Gateways
  19. with 80 Mb Western Digital IDE drives and transfer the software to the
  20. Quantum. Also, I remember at least one client that wanted a Sony monitor
  21. (1304 or 1604), or an NEC (3FGX or 4FG).
