  14.     I have an IBM PC and Zenith FTM 1490 monitor.  I have
  15. been using an IBM vga adapter card which now gives me one
  16. long beep and 3 shorts when I boot up.

  18.     I have tried replacing the bad adapter card with other
  19. vga cards and not all of them work.  For example, an ATI VGA
  20. basic 16 just gives me static on the screen and never gets to 
  21. the DOS prompt.  However, a Paradise VGA PLUS card works fine.

  23.     I'a appreciate any help on why I can't use just any
  24. VGA card, the ATI card is a lot cheaper than the Paradise and
  25. I don't want to put any more money in the system than I have
  26. to.
