- I am looking for a PC power supply with a quiet fan; the one I have
- now is quite annoying. Does anyone have any good recommendations for
- products, companies, and suppliers of such?
-
- For the record, the power supply I have now is an Amcer model STCU-250
- from Taiwan; this is a 250 W power supply with AT form factor, but
- mounted in a mid-sized tower case. (Thus it doesn't have an external
- power switch mounted on the power supply itself, but rather a cord
- that connects to a power switch on the front of the tower case.) It
- has two 6-wire Burndy connectors going to the (386/33) motherboard,
- and four drive power connectors, one of which has a smaller secondary
- connector attached to it (for 3.5 inch floppy drives, apparently).
-
- I am definitely prepared to pay more for as quiet a system as I can
- have, so I'm not looking for the cheapest possible solution. I also
- am not interested in doing anything like taking the power supply apart
- and just replacing the fan; I want a complete drop-in replacement.
-
- Thanks in advance for any help and advice. Direct email replies to
- hecker@digex.com; I will post a summary later.
