- Subject: Help with defective TURBO switch on a 486-33
- Lines: 13
-
- All of a sudden my 486-33 MHz computer has begun operating at
- 16 MHz, due to a defective TURBO SWITCH on the front panel. Norton
- SysInfo now reports a CPU landmark speed of 19.4 versus the 71.4
- it usually used to report. The memory test during boot-up also takes
- a hell of long time compared to before. Any ideas on what might be
- happening? Also any ideas on how to fix a defective TURBO switch or
- bypass it? My problem is that the TURBO switch is part of the front of
- the Mid-Tower case and is not separately extractable. All suggestions
- are welcome.
