  14. Yes.  It's another one of those posts :>  I still haven't seen a FAQ
  15. regarding this.  I suppose it's like asking which editor is the best
  16. (even though we all know emacs rules :).

  18. Anyhow, my questions are as follows:

  20. I am buying a 486 system.  I'd like to optimize my graphics performance
  21. under 386BSD X11R5, DOS and Windows.  I'd like to run at 1024x768,
  22. 800x600 and 640x480 all at 256 colors (or more :) under X and Windows.

  24. What board would be best for me to choose?
  25. I've heard that the Diamond Speedstar 24 (NOT the X) doesn't do
  26. 1024x768 under X.
  27. Are there any VESA standard local bus SVGA cards/systems?
  28. Would I be better off buying a non-local bus system?
