- Hello world. I am a newcomer to USENET, so please excuse my
- ignorance. 8-(
-
- I have a question about hard drive controllers, which I know
- nothing about. Are they "generic" (meaning, will any hard
- drive controller work with any type of hard drive)?
- Or are they specific to a type of drive (e.g., RLL, MFM, IDE,
- AEIOU, etc.)?
-
- If controllers are limited to specific types of drives, how do
- I go about figuring out what type of drive is apropriate to a
- given controller?
-
- Note: Obviously (well, maybe not 8-) ), I have a drive
- controller capable of handling two drives, and I was
- thinking of adding another drive.
-
- Please email responses to:
- chew@accel.aa.washington.edu
-
- Thanks!
