  21. What is the transfer rate on the Adaptec 1542 set for? It comes default
  22. as 5.8 MB. I would try to set it to 5 MB. Try booting to a DOS diskette
  23. that doesn't load a memory manager and any TSR's. This is usually the
  24. cause of the problems your are describing. Also check the DMA, and I/O
  25. port addresses to make sure there are no conflicts with any other cards
  26. in your system.
