  36.   I think you just answered your own question. A 386 BIOS will not work
  37. well (if at all) with a 486, because the cache controller is unknown to
  38. it. I wouldn't even try it, based on having tried a 386 BIOS on a 486
  39. motherboard without success.

  41.   If it did work I would expect it to be quite slow without enabling the
  42. cache.

  44.   That's not a "for sure" answer, but it's based on some real experience
  45. and some solid reasons why I wouldn't expect it to work.
