- Er...I hate to state the obvious, but are you sure the screen contrast
- wasn't just set higher on the HP48S than on the HP48SX?

- The screen contrast is adjustable by pressing [ON] and [+] at the same time
- to increase contrast, or [ON] and [-] at the same time to decrease contrast.
