- We've got a 9000/730, HP-UX 8.07, with 2 1.2 GB SCSI exernal disks.
- Believe it or not, we're using the space, and a few days ago I went
- around and deleted some files. The catch is, if i do a du from the root
- directory of the disk, it lists directories and files I deleted. If I
- switch to one of the directories with the phantom files and do a du on
- that, the files are not listed. Unfortunately, the disk usage figures
- (from bdf) mesh with the totals of du from the root dir. This is very
- annoying.
-
- I ran fsck on the drive, and it said everything was fine, but the
- problem is still there. The files aren't hidden in lost+found or tmp or
- anything like that, you can't access them at all. But the disk usage
- routines still believe in them.
-
- If I wanted to have the space filled, I wouldn't have deleted stuff.
- Any suggestions on how to get the df to jibe?
