- Locally-mounted file systems are not supported in any 7.x release. It's not
- that it has problems; the code to support the feature isn't there. Your CE
- is wrong when he/she suggests it can be done.

- Also, various studies inside HP have shown that it is faster to swap over
- the network to a server with a reasonably-fast disk (any HP-IB disk as fast
- or faster than a 7959, and any SCSI disk) than locally to a disk as slow as
- a 7946. Sad to say, there's just not a lot of use for those dinosaurs
- anymore, although they'll probably be acceptable local disks if/when you
- roll to 8.x.
