- : What about HP VUE on 8XX machines? The majority of 8XX machines have no
- : graphics hardware, so restricting its use to the 'local' display doesn't
- : make much sense.
- :
- : On 8XX machines, you recieve a license for N users, which corresponds roughly

- : at any one time. Is the VUE licensing different in this case? Or, since
- : Xterminals are the only way to due graphics off an 8XX, does the 8XX VUE
- : have the same capcbilites (or restrictions, as the case may be)?
-
- Since most 8XX machines do not have graphics consoles, VUE software is supplied
- for convenience to allow easy interoperability with HP workstations and X
- terminals. However, as far as I know, you still need a right-to-use license
- for each graphics seat. This license is bundled with each HP workstation and
- X terminal.
-
- Bottom line: if you are using an HP workstation or HP X terminal as your
- display device, relax - you are already licensed for VUE. If you are using VUE
- on a non-HP workstation or X terminal, you really should purchase a right-to-use
- license.
