- We have an HP9000/827s running HP-UX 8.02.
-
- We do our news & mail runs by polling our "upstream" feed. When our
- modem calls and gets a busy signal or NO CARRIER, it takes from 3 to 6
- minutes for uucico to timeout and relenquish the line. 3 minutes was
- the norm for quite some time, but 6 has suddenly become the snooze time
- of choice.
-
- Question: What can be done to allow uucico to recognize that the
- modem's given up, or how can one decrease uucico's timout period?
-
- Thanks much.
