- Hi Net-Folks,
-
- I have not been able to figure out a good method of configurating
- my systems (HP 9000-845 & 730) so am turning to comp.sys.hp for
- some assistance. The problem is the strange way that HP has
- decided to ship their systems.
-
- I would like to be able to compile and use various software
- packages from the net like Gnu, and MIT X11 contrib goodies.
-
- My problem is where to set up the required directories that
- hold the header (.h) file and libraries. Would also like some
- hints on how to setup Imake and make files.
-
- Is there such a thing as standard pathnames for these? i.e.
- /usr/local/gnu
- /usr/local/mit
- /usr/lib/gnu
- /usr/lib/mit
- /usr/include/X11/Xaw etc
-
- If there is a fairly standard way of doing this, I would like to
- follow it.
-
- I have heard a rumor that HP *will* include more goodies with 9.0
- IF true, could someone PLEASE post what HP will use as paths.
-
- Thank you, Vic
