- If you are printing to a LaserJet IIIP, first you need a
- postscript cartridge, then you must toggle the print mode from
- PCL to PS. The toggle sequence consists of the following steps:
- 1. Put the unit offline by depressing the on-line key
- 2. Switch to other mode by simultaneously depressing the +/- and
- Alt keys and then while holding them on depress the Reset key.
- The unit will rumble, give you some messages and essentially
- reboot into the other mode (i.e. if you were in PCL you will
- now be PS). You will also REMAIN where you leave it. If you
- switch to PS and forget to toggle back, any normal print
- requests will give you the same 'locked up' indication.
-
- Also - when you install a PostScript cartridge, your default
- factory settings CHANGE. You must look in the cartridge manual
- to see what they are now, NOT the IIIP manual!!
