  13. Thank you to all the folks who sent me information on the proper
  14. cpu type for the hp9000 machine. Unfortunately we still cannot
  15. install gcc.
  16.  
  17. We obtained gcc-2.2.2 from the anonymous ftp site mentioned
  18. in the responses based on the recommendations of readers who said
  19. that this version of gcc supports hp-ux on a hp9000/835 machine.
  20. Everything went fine until we got to step #5 of the INSTALL
  21. program which said to type: make LANGUAGE=c . Several pages of
  22. nice clean operational statements followed then a series of
  23.  
  24. 'warning: -g1 not supported on this version of GCC' 
  25.  
  26. and then

  28.           Argument 1 or 3 in FARG upper error # 1060
  29.           Lookahead=RTNVAL=GR
  30.           Error code 1

  35. Has anyone actually implemented gcc-2.2.2 on a HP9000/835 machine
  36. and if so can they provide any assistance? Has anyone installed
  37. ANY VERSION of gcc  on a HP 9000/835 machine?
