- I have a different perspective which is in conflict with your last statement.
- We asked the CHS (Common Hardware/Software) office their stance on using 8.0
- long ago. They indicated that an ECP was written and submitted in March. The
- people I talked to indicated that it was their intent to get 8.0 into the CHS-1
- inventory ASAP but realistically that it would probably not "officially" be
- under contract until April 1993. However, they fully expected the ECP to be
- approved by the September 1992 time frame. Note that the submitter of the ECP
- had already received the first round of questions back from the army in April.
- If I were in your shoes I would ask my customer what's wrong with upgrading to
- 8.0 now since the Army is actively pursuing the upgrade also.
