  18. I have a different perspective which is in conflict with your last statement.
  19. We asked the CHS (Common Hardware/Software) office their stance on using 8.0
  20. long ago. They indicated that an ECP was written and submitted in March. The
  21. people I talked to indicated that it was their intent to get 8.0 into the CHS-1
  22. inventory ASAP but realistically that it would probably not "officially" be
  23. under contract until April 1993. However, they fully expected the ECP to be
  24. approved by the September 1992 time frame. Note that the submitter of the ECP
  25. had already received the first round of questions back from the army in April.
  26. If I were in your shoes I would ask my customer what's wrong with upgrading to
  27. 8.0 now since the Army is actively pursuing the upgrade also.
