  33. I phoned Psion a few weeks back trying to get details on the protocol
  34. used by slink so I could do just that. They wouldn't tell me ("That
  35. protocol has never been documented, sir". Yeah, sure.) But they did
  36. say they would be shortly be releasing a library that implements the
  37. protocol *in source code form*. This supposedly gives you everything
  38. you need to write an slink server. The guy was kind of surprised when
  39. I told him I didn't want to run this on a PC, but assured me that
  40. it would work on my Sun. Hmmm. This is going to cost 50 or 60 quid
  41. when it shows up. Maybe I'll just spy on an slink connection and see
  42. if I can reverse engineer the protocol myself (and offer to sell
  43. Psion a documented copy of it:-)

  66. What I want most is for the RAM and ROM cards to be cheaper. I've
  67. got lots of stuff I'd like to keep on the machine, but having 1MB
  68. RAM cards costing as much as the machine is a bit excessive. I'd really
  69. like a 1MB RAM card and a 2MB Flash ROM card, but that's 500 quid:-(
