- The supported kit media for the 11/730 (as of ULTRIX V2.3) were RA60
- and 9 track tape. If you really have an RA80, as opposed to R80,
- then the RA60 may be a possibility. Otherwise you'll need a UNIBUS
- tape drive.
-
- I'm pretty sure that ULTRIX V2.3 was the last version to support the
- 11/730. There's a chance the machine specific code for the 11/730
- is still lurking around V3.0 and maybe even V4, but the further you
- get away from a supported the more likely it is that something has
- been broken.

- I doubt it. I'm not sure you can use the DEUNA for downline loading.
- Even if you get it send out the right MOP message, you'll need to verify
- that the generic kernel that gets loaded over the net has support for
- the 11/730 in it. A quick check of the V4.2 GENERIC configuration shows
- no mention of the 11/730 nor the IDC.

- Find someone with a V2.3 kit with TU58s for boot media. Good luck.
- If you can get a tape drive or RA60 (and it really does have a UDA50)
- you should be able to do the installation directly. If not, find
- another VAX on which to do the installation and keep the generic
- kernel around.
-
- Supported tape drives (load) for the 11/730 running V2.3 were:
-
- TS11, TU80, TU81, TU81E.
-
- The tape drives supported as data devices only were:
-
- TS05 and TUK50.
-
- Make sure you have at least 4 MB of memory.
