- I have a DECstation 5000 running under Ultrix 4.2A. The supplier of a HP
- DAT drive is unable to help with the installation (don't tell me; you get
- what you pay for). I have used MAKEDEV to generate a tz-type driver called
- rmt1h. I can copy files to and from the Dat using cp. However, when I use
- dump I don't seem to get anything like the data capacity I expected (maybe
- 100Mb rather than 1.2Gb) irrespective of tape density/length settings on
- the command line.
- Does anyone out there have a HP dat drive that works? If so, please mail
- me & tell me what parameters you use on the dump command line.
-
- Maybe the supplier didn't set the switches correctly ......
