- Most PDP11's run well on single phase, 15amp service.

- To meet code under fully loaded rack conditions, some larger iron
- (11/45 etc.,) did have power control boxes that were 2 phase.

- The only thing that required 3-phase were early high capacity disk
- drives, (RP03,RP04...) which needed 3phase for their disk rotation
