  19.     I was under the inpression that the users of Alpha porting machines
  20. had to sign agreements that they would _not_ run any benchmarks, as the
  21. machines that were being shipped were not representitive of the final
  22. configuration. Things such as compilers & microcode being optimised for
  23. ease of debugging, the OS & libraries built with debug, etc, etc.
  24.     Human nature being what it is, I'd expect that your benchmarks come
  25. from such a machine. Would you care to post the details, i.e. where and
  26. who they come from and what tests were run?
