- I just bought a (albeit used) DEC VR290 monitor for my VAXstation
- II/GPX. One annoying picture quality problem is that features being
- displayed (like characters) bleed somewhat off to the right of
- themselves and although I have adjusted the focus inside, the
- characters seem less defined (e.g. not as sharp) as I think they
- should. It is almost as if the video signal from the MicroVAX is
- reaching the monitor attenuated to a noticable degree. The BC18V
- cable I received that interconnects the two in my opinion is amazingly
- long (I imagine the longest they made it), were there shorter ones
- made? I've spent quite a while attempting to correct the problem
- by making adjustments inside the monitor but I can't get the bleeding
- problem to go away (nor it focused better than it is). It really looks
- to me like a signal strength problem, although I obviously could
- be wrong. Do all VR290's exhibit this behaviour or is this a specific
- problem that can be corrected (aside from replacing it)?
-
- Thanks.
