  13. I've just got my nice brand spanking new decstation 5000/25 and I'm
  14. attempting to use the floppy drive.  I've identified the fd0 devices in /dev
  15. as the appropriate locations to address, but I'm having trouble successfully
  16. using the device.

  18. My guess is that when I pop in one of the two disks they provide you with
  19. that you have to use newfs to format the disk, and then use mount to get to
  20. it.  Every time I attempt this using the rx26 pattern in disktab I get an
  21. error involving a failure to access the partition table.

  23. I previously used Suns and they had a format command that would allow you to
  24. reformat disks - is there something like this on a DS, because I can't find
  25. one?  Any help from the gurus out there would be appreciated.

  27. NB.  Has anyone developed scripts to do this sort of thing: format a floppy
  28. disk, mount the drive, unmount the drive, etc..?
