  14. I have a user who is porting an application from NOS/VE to Unix (specifically,
  15. IRIX (SGI)).  
  16.  
  17. He would like to be able manipulate the linking of his program on Unix as he
  18. is able to under NOS.  Specifically, he would like to be able to tell the
  19. linker to satisfy unresolved symbol 'x' with symbol 'y'.  This is being done in
  20. FORTRAN.  He has a subroutine reference that he wants to override, so to speak,
  21. with the subroutine of his choice.

  23. Has anyone dealt with this aspect of porting before?  Or is this a reason to
  24. stay with NOS and CDC?  :-).

  26. I tried comp.sys.sgi, and got no response at all.
