  13. Greetings, netters.  I'm looking forward to getting a lot of mileage
  14. out of MiNT 0.95 with TOSWIN, but I've encountered a few snags.
  15.  
  16. First, it seems my system hangs whenever a program tries to ring the
  17. keyboard bell (^g in emacs).  This happens from MiNTEmacs (from
  18. atari/mint on a.a.umich.edu), from Flash, and when using Emacs
  19. remotely within Flash.  I have Tos 1.04, ICD Adspeed 16Mhz, and am
  20. running MiNT 0.95 with TOSWIN.

  22. Second, when I try to use tip to get a terminal-in-a-TOSWIN window, it
  23. writes in the standard full-size system font to the bottom of the
  24. screen, scrolling my desktop out from under me until I exit with ~. .
  25. Messages from the tip program, such as [set?] and the ~h help appear
  26. where they should in a small font in the window.  Have I failed to set
  27. something right?  Is this (1990) version of tip the right thing to
  28. use?

  30. Finally, I'd like to find a way to have some environment variables set
  31. before I start a new process under TOSWIN.  In particular, I'd love to
  32. run Emacs in a TOSWIN window, so I can use the new TOSWIN emacs menu,
  33. but emacs can't find its lisp directories, etc. until I set my
  34. environment.  Is there another place I can set this, or another
  35. solution?
