- Greetings, netters. I'm looking forward to getting a lot of mileage
- out of MiNT 0.95 with TOSWIN, but I've encountered a few snags.
-
- First, it seems my system hangs whenever a program tries to ring the
- keyboard bell (^g in emacs). This happens from MiNTEmacs (from
- atari/mint on a.a.umich.edu), from Flash, and when using Emacs
- remotely within Flash. I have Tos 1.04, ICD Adspeed 16Mhz, and am
- running MiNT 0.95 with TOSWIN.
-
- Second, when I try to use tip to get a terminal-in-a-TOSWIN window, it
- writes in the standard full-size system font to the bottom of the
- screen, scrolling my desktop out from under me until I exit with ~. .
- Messages from the tip program, such as [set?] and the ~h help appear
- where they should in a small font in the window. Have I failed to set
- something right? Is this (1990) version of tip the right thing to
- use?
-
- Finally, I'd like to find a way to have some environment variables set
- before I start a new process under TOSWIN. In particular, I'd love to
- run Emacs in a TOSWIN window, so I can use the new TOSWIN emacs menu,
- but emacs can't find its lisp directories, etc. until I set my
- environment. Is there another place I can set this, or another
- solution?
-
- Thanks for all your help,
-
