- What a quote... :-)

- A simple question: Is the computer connected to ground/earth?
-
- I've had the same problem on two systems.
- The first was an Aquarius computer which wasn't able to read
- data casettes with a casette recorder. After I discovered that reading
- succeeded when the TV (monitor) was switched off, I made the computer
- connected to the ground. It worked, the computer was even capable of
- reading bad casette tapes from other persons, that it wasn't able to
- read before.
-
- The second one is my Atari ST I'm using now. The harddisk gave trouble,
- and after I connected all metal cases and the ground of the power supplies
- to the gound/earth there was no problem anymore. The same applies to
- a friend's ST (another configuration). I believe that computers
- and especially the high-frequency connections are very
- sensitive for radio interference and magnetic fields.
-
- Maybe you can give it a try......... I hope it works.
