- Yep, the provisions for video upgrades on the Falcon don't look so great,
- Yet Another Proprietary Interface (YAPI), the PDS. Also in Tramiel's
- announcement on Genie, he said explicitly that the 640x480 mode, at least
- with 16-bit colour (which is a great feature, mind you), is **INTERLACED**!
- Sigh. This means some good things, as he mentioned, like the Falcon will
- work on SC1224 monitors (as well as VGA monitors with higher scan rate).
- But it also means that the Falcon will have the same interlace problems
- that the Amiga 640x400 16-colour mode has - FLICKER. Not too bad on
- digitized images, but for the desktop or window/text displays, it will
- drive you crazy.
-
- Does anyone have any more detailed information on this? Will all the
- 640x480 modes be interlaced? Will both the SC1224 and VGA monitors work
- in all modes, or just some of them? Which ones?
