- I have recently set up a Spectre GCR on my system which consists of Mega 4
- ST, ICD AdSCSI host, Maxtor LXT-200 disk drive. Also, I have Spectre
- v. 3.0, with a 50 meg partition formatted for Mac. The hard disk writes
- seem to be slower than they should be. It works ok, and reads seem
- sufficiently fast, but writes of large files seem slow.
- For example, copying Superpaint 2.1 from a Mac floppy to the hard drive
- on my system took 1 minute 14 seconds. The same operation on a real Mac
- SE/30 took only about 23 seconds. On my system, during the write to the
- hard disk, it would pause so long that the light on the floppy would actually
- go out while it was waiting for a part of the HD write to finish.
- Is this normal, and if so, why?? Thanks!
