I have recently set up a Spectre GCR on my system which consists of Mega 4
ST, ICD AdSCSI host, Maxtor LXT-200 disk drive.  Also, I have Spectre
v. 3.0, with a 50 meg partition formatted for Mac.  The hard disk writes
seem to be slower than they should be.  It works ok, and reads seem
sufficiently fast, but writes of large files seem slow.
For example, copying Superpaint 2.1 from a Mac floppy to the hard drive
on my system took 1 minute 14 seconds.  The same operation on a real Mac
SE/30 took only about 23 seconds.  On my system, during the write to the
hard disk, it would pause so long that the light on the floppy would actually
go out while it was waiting for a part of the HD write to finish.
Is this normal, and if so, why??  Thanks!
