- My ST has just been upgraded to 4Mb and TOS1.4, and I'm having problems
- with micro-emacs (both versions 3.9e and 3.10). On starting u-emacs,
- or after reading/writing files (^x^w etc.), the screen fills with zeroes
- (at approximately keyboard-repeat rate) until I hit a key or mouse button.
- I can then delete the zeroes & edit as normal.
- Problems remain with filenames even after quitting u-emacs, e.g. the
- command line on any .TTP application also fills with zeroes until I
- hit a key or button. They're OK if I haven't previously run u-emacs.
-
- As far as I can tell, only u-emacs is so afflicted. Every combination of
- bug fixes (POOLFIX[34], Atari Rainbow TOS patches) and my preferred Auto
- programs & desk accessories (including none) has no apparent effect.
-
- Can anyone out there suggest a diagnosis or cure? U-emacs was fine with
- my old TOS1.0, and I'd like to continue using it. Please e-mail me;
- I'll summarise.

- P.S. Please also e-mail me if you want to add to my list of `recommended
- configurations for start-up' - what desk accessories and Auto programs
- do you use? I'll be summarising responses in a week or so. Many thanks.
