  12. My ST has just been upgraded to 4Mb and TOS1.4, and I'm having problems
  13. with micro-emacs (both versions 3.9e and 3.10).  On starting u-emacs,
  14. or after reading/writing files (^x^w etc.), the screen fills with zeroes
  15. (at approximately keyboard-repeat rate) until I hit a key or mouse button.
  16. I can then delete the zeroes & edit as normal.
  17. Problems remain with filenames even after quitting u-emacs, e.g. the
  18. command line on any .TTP application also fills with zeroes until I
  19. hit a key or button.  They're OK if I haven't previously run u-emacs.

  21. As far as I can tell, only u-emacs is so afflicted.  Every combination of
  22. bug fixes (POOLFIX[34], Atari Rainbow TOS patches) and my preferred Auto
  23. programs & desk accessories (including none) has no apparent effect.

  25. Can anyone out there suggest a diagnosis or cure?  U-emacs was fine with
  26. my old TOS1.0, and I'd like to continue using it.  Please e-mail me;
