- Bank transfers are somewhat expensive (25$US) but are reliable and fast.
- When my wife heard about my attempts get money to germany, she reminded
- me of international money orders from the US post office. they are
- fairly cheap (~2$) and available in the currency of your choice (or
- at least that is what my wife claims). I'll update the net as to what
- I find. (the things I go through to pay for shareware) I wonder
- if martin is interested in a north american rep.
-
- and now on to the hermes questions:
-
- I just converted over to hermes after living with mercury for the past
- 2 years. It took all day but now I have an acceptable (and probably
- not optimal) configuration. But as you can guess, I have some questions.
-
- I have not run pathalis because I have only one connection and I
- keep getting file usr\lib\mail\paths" not found messages. what is a good
- dummy file for paths and mdbs files?
-
- Another warning is it can not tell what my modem type is. I suspect I
- am missing a database somewhere. clues?
-
- when I run nhm and try to regenerate the history files, I get can't
- open any more files error messages. could this be due to some 0
- length files in my news spool area? (I got them when I overflowed
- my disk when I had a large burp of news).
-
- Thanks for any info.

- BTW, if you answer by email, use the polaroid address below. my feed
- is at risk of vanishing in the near future which will invalidate my
- .us address.. so if anyone knows of any friendly feed sites that
- are willing to feed me mail and news PLEASE TELL ME! a net connection
- is a terrible thing to lose.
