  19. Oh c'mon, the answer is obviously price. The 68040 and high-speed memory
  20. would push the price way up. Don't forget the machine is not just a 
  21. CPU-and-memory box, when you push clock rates up you usually have to boost
  22. the speed of all the custom chips, disk controllers, RAM controllers,
  23. video, etc etc. Atari are obviously trying to keep the price very low,
  24. an excellent idea IMHO. Also it is very likely there will be higher-end
  25. models with more horsepower. BTW, most of the Apple line use 030's.
