  15. I have been using Spectre for quite a while now without many problems.  One
  16. problem I have been having is when I run spectre on a color monitor.  I
  17. have my colors setup so it uses the extra colors to achieve a perceived
  18. 640x400 resolution on a 640x200 screen.  It looks pretty nice, in my
  19. opinion, and I wouldn't mind using it at all.

  21. The problem is, when I run Spectre in color, the sound doesn't work!  The
  22. initial startup sound (usually heard when you startup the mac) is flawless.
  23. I was amazed when I first used Spectre that the sound was so clear.  But,
  24. when I get to the control panel and adjust the volume level (which probably
  25. does nothing, unless you set it to 0, except play the current digitized
  26. sound) the sound is played, but is extremely unclear.  The next time I
  27. adjust the volume, the sound isn't played at all, instead I hear a crackling
  28. sound.

  30. I have never had any problems with the sound on my st before, at all.  Sound
  31. in ST programs is flawless.  And here is something interesting, I ran a 
  32. mono emulator on my color monitor, ran spectre (spectre didn't seem to
  33. recognize mono was on, because I got a split screen!) anyway, the sound
  34. worked fine!  Obviously I'm not going to use the mono emulator, since I
  35. don't want a split screen (try reading text like that!).

  37. Does anyone have any suggestions? (Perhaps a monochrome emulator that works
  38. under Spectre?)  Thanks!
