  26.  I had lots of problems like this one with my old 600XL which I got
  27. for X-mas '83 (guess it makes me an 8 year veteran too). I knew
  28. almost nothing about computers then, but a few years later I
  29. figured out my problems were caused mainly by:

  31.  1. The buggy BASIC revision in the computer. (What about BobTerm
  32. and the font editor. Are they written in BASIC?)
  33.  
  34.  2. A faulty POKEY chip.
  35.  
  36.  3. A difference in the OS between the 600XLs and all the other Atari
  37. machines I've ever seen. Synapse software's tape version of Blue Max
  38. couldn't be loaded into a 600XL computer because of this. Possibly
  39. caused by a modification in the OS made by the Swedish Atari agency,
  40. but I'm not sure.
