- I had lots of problems like this one with my old 600XL which I got
- for X-mas '83 (guess it makes me an 8 year veteran too). I knew
- almost nothing about computers then, but a few years later I
- figured out my problems were caused mainly by:
-
- 1. The buggy BASIC revision in the computer. (What about BobTerm
- and the font editor. Are they written in BASIC?)
-
- 2. A faulty POKEY chip.
-
- 3. A difference in the OS between the 600XLs and all the other Atari
- machines I've ever seen. Synapse software's tape version of Blue Max
- couldn't be loaded into a 600XL computer because of this. Possibly
- caused by a modification in the OS made by the Swedish Atari agency,
- but I'm not sure.
-
- Hope this helps,
