- I had the same thing happen to me. I had copied the demo to /RAM5 and
- attempted to boot it from there. It didn't run (didn't really except it
- to run from anything _not_ on the smartport), but it did save some nasty
- things in my battery-RAM. My border, text, and background colors were
- set to black, volume level to 0 (off), and my startup device set to ROMdisk.
- Doing a cold-boot from my GS had no effect, so I was forced to purge my
- BRAM by (blindly) getting into the system settings and switching to 60Hz.
-
- Btw, what's described above is *very* simular to the "Blackout" virus.
- I tried scanning for it later with Salvation Exorciser but came up with nothing.
- So was the Blackout virus accidentially added to the Demo disk, or do these
- people at this NinjaForce group find it humourous to write up their own viruses?
- Aside from that, I don't like the idea of having to set my GS to 50Hz to run
- the animation on their demo (could damage my monitor or cpu). You don't even
- the option of running at 50Hz or 60Hz on a ROM 3 since the selector menu (and
- animation/music on 1st title page) aren't compatible.
