- The difference between program switching and true multitasking is that
- the latter (also referred to as time sharing) continues the operations of
- two (or more) programs _simultaneously_. Thus, you could recalculate a
- spreadsheet while working on a wordprocessor document. Obviously this
- demands a great deal of CPU power, which is why it's not really workable
- even on most Macs. Even a triple-speed GS would slow to a crawl!
