  23.   Not that it's much, but doesn't the APDA still at least handle and update
  24. the Apple II Technotes? (existing ones and future)

  26.   It's no big shock that Apple is completely breaking away from the Apple II.
  27. They've been slowly winding down support as far back as 1984-85 and it's become
  28. much more noticable between 1989 and 1992. They've never _fully_ dropped II 
  29. support, however small, but it's seems as if System 6.0.x and the EtherNet
  30. card may be the final end of it all. It's all *very* frustrating! At one point
  31. this time last year (August 1991) they were only days away from announcing a 
  32. greatly enhanced "Apple IIgs Plus" CPU. I know know most of it's technical 
  33. details, and I can assure you that it was basically the "dream machine" every
  34. Apple II and IIgs user had always wished for! Now unfortunately, Apple has
  35. turned around and abandonned all that, and the IIGS+ (that never made it out)
  36. has been replaced with the lesser Macintosh LC II.

  38.   I'd be very surprised if Apple Computer did anything beyond their current
  39. projects for the Apple II (System 6.0.x and EtherNet). Although the GS+ 
  40. project for last year was a surprise...it's cancel however wasn't! :-(
  41. Bill Heinman's Avatar appears to be the IIGS's last hope, and if it successes
  42. it'll probably have an even greater impact than then canceled IIGS Plus would
  43. have been...  Let's wait and watch.
