- I think it depends on the mechanisms you get. For example, if you have those
- low-profile, low power conner/quantum/maxtors, you don't have to worry about a
- thing. These drives don't get really warm.
-
- On the other hand, some of the bigger half height drives give out LOTs of heat;
- for example, my maxtor LXT213. I am keeping my maxtor "outside", just a bunch
- of cables running to it.
-
- Anyway, you got to say the 3.5 floppy size HDs really match the IIgs! One more
- thing, since the HD is drawing the power from the IIgs, I notice some
- interference with the monitor. I think it's a different case for my LXT, it
- seems to draw more power than my old quantum pro 105s; which I didn't notice
- any flickering... I better get a external power supply for my LXT... another
- 50 bucks.
-
- One more thing, I brought a conner 120 from LRO from $410, last Oct. of so.
- When you call LRO, ask for Larry, since you can argue with him about prices.
-
- Good luck everyone, in dealing with LRO! You *could* get deals from them.
